Position Summary

The Leadership Development Business Associate position is typically, a three-year position depending on performance and skill levels demonstrated. Responsible for assisting the sales staff through the evaluation, analysis, and management of loan transactions of current and prospective customers including periodic account reviews. During the first two years, the associate will learn the entire credit process, from application to approval. Year three provides immersion in commercial relationship management.

Essential Requirements

  • Prepares transactions for approval, both written and verbally.
  • Maintains credit records and performs periodic review of current customers.
  • Responsible for the completion of all compliance and skill-building training related to the position.
  • Must understand all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and comply with the requirements.

Year One

  • Responsible for assisting the sales staff through the evaluation, analysis, and management of loan transactions of current and prospective customers including periodic account reviews.
  • Obtains and analyzes credit information through investigation and conducts financial analyses utilizing financial statement software.
  • Reviews loan transactions for current and prospective clients.
  • Assists senior credit analyst with regional/division work flow.

Year Two

  • Reviews loan transactions through interviews with applicants, references, credit ratings, credit scores, and financial statement analysis.
  • Responsible for collateral assessment.
  • Assesses proper balance of credit strength and appropriate risk.
  • Assists Manager with complicated and more involved customers and credit requests.
  • Conducts research of specific industries and regions in which customer conducts business
  • Completes training rotations in Credit Admin, SBA, Workout
  • Begins special project as assigned
  • Co-facilitates Financial Wellness Course

Year Three

  • Completes Commercial Lender training rotation
  • Completes special project as assigned
  • Responsible for collateral assessment.
  • Assesses proper balance of credit strength and appropriate risk.
  • Assists Manager with complicated and more involved customers and credit requests.

Experience/Skills

  • One (1) to three (3) years finance/accounting experience preferred.
  • Accounting or finance background preferred.
  • Good PC skills--proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel essential.
  • Understanding of consumer lending involving credit reports or credit bureau analysis.
  • Problem solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of attention to detail.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel as needed for meetings, projects, seminars, etc.
