JOB DUTIES

    1. Recognizes the need for using correct sanitation techniques as they relate to infection control.
  • Sanitizes work areas before and after use with approved disinfectant. Wipes up spills and leaves work area neat.

  • Uses correct sanitation techniques when preparing food; i.e., uses gloves, does not touch face or hair.

  • Completes all assigned cleaning tasks thoroughly and as scheduled, including keeping proffer clean and organized.

  • Reads and uses recipes; consistently produces food of optimum temperature, texture, taste, and appearance.

  • Is responsible for changing case displays, monthly, or as holidays dictate.

  • Is familiar with safety regulations and follows them routinely.

  • Uses equipment carefully; advises supervisor immediately of any malfunctioning equipment.

  • Assumes responsibility for storing food at safe temperatures; i.e., puts food in freezers and walk-in promptly

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in hospital nutrition department preferred.

  • Ability to read recipes and orders.

  • Flexible in schedule to meet the demands of the department.
