- Recognizes the need for using correct sanitation techniques as they relate to infection control.
Sanitizes work areas before and after use with approved disinfectant. Wipes up spills and leaves work area neat.
Uses correct sanitation techniques when preparing food; i.e., uses gloves, does not touch face or hair.
Completes all assigned cleaning tasks thoroughly and as scheduled, including keeping proffer clean and organized.
Reads and uses recipes; consistently produces food of optimum temperature, texture, taste, and appearance.
Is responsible for changing case displays, monthly, or as holidays dictate.
Is familiar with safety regulations and follows them routinely.
Uses equipment carefully; advises supervisor immediately of any malfunctioning equipment.
Assumes responsibility for storing food at safe temperatures; i.e., puts food in freezers and walk-in promptly
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in hospital nutrition department preferred.
Ability to read recipes and orders.
Flexible in schedule to meet the demands of the department.
