If you are ready to work with a growing company on exciting projects at an industry leader then Kelly Services has an opportunity for you as a Project Engineer. Our client is a custom OEM machinery manufacturer of hydraulic presses. Due to growth, they are searching for a Project Engineer with Machinery Design skills that includes:

  • Custom design of new machines

  • Modification of existing designs

  • Designed machines should include hydraulic systems

  • Understanding of the machinery sales process a plus

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Individual contributor to multiple projects for new hydraulic presses. You will lead your projects and contribute to others

  • Provide and/or oversee the mechanical and hydraulic design process including

  • Concept and design including specification of purchased parts

  • Overall assembly drawings

  • Detail drawings

  • Hydraulic schematics

  • Multi-level bills of materials

  • Project Engineering skills from concept through after-market support including scheduling, timeline development, budget adherence

  • Assist the Sales staff with technical support in the quoting process.

  • Assist Operations during the build and debug of equipment.

  • Assist the Service Department with technical issues.

  • Assist in mentoring other engineers as necessary.

  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned

Requirements and Education:

  • Minimum 4 years’ machine design experience with hydraulic systems as part of the machinery

  • You should be able to design a hydraulic or fluid power system as part of an overall machine design.

  • Knowledge of proportional control in high force applications as part of hydraulic design is highly desired.

  • Proficient with and solid modeling CAD package & AutoCAD. You will use Solidworks (Inventor or Creo will be considered) & AutoCAD

  • PLC familiarity (Allen Bradley preferred) a plus

  • Proficient with MS Office and any MRP/ERP system, required

  • Bachelor or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related is preferred but will consider 10+ years of experience in lieu of a Degree

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

  • Must have a “team-player” positive attitude with a cooperative personality

  • Willing to interface with internal and external customers

  • Good communication skills

  • Project based travel as needed in support of parts sourcing, pre & post sales support (spec building, handoff, engineering support for service techs,etc.)
