Long Range Demand Planner
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Long Range Demand Planner, are to:
The ideal candidate would work out of our Chesterfield Mo, Yuma Az, Tucson Az, Ankeny Ia, Huxley la, or Williamsburg Ia, Urbandale Ia, Stonington Il, Whitestown In, Galena Md, Stanton Mn, Glyndon Mn, or Scott Ms location, however we will consider applicants that can work out of any Bayer Crop Science Research and Development sites in the United States.
Be responsible for the coordination and alignment of long-range pipeline work demand forecasts by crop, by region, by workflow and the comparison of those demands against available supply of production resources;
Be responsible for leading the yearly Strategic Business planning process for Global Breeding by ensuring alignment of the strategic forecasts to financial targets and creating visibility of capacity constraints impacting our ability to meet the pipeline demands;
Evaluate and discuss the reported and monitored Key Performance Indicators for the related portfolio with business counterparts;
Be a strategic thinker with intimate understanding of our Crop Science and Global Research and Development (R&D) Trait and Pipeline Delivery function;
Drive the portfolio optimization and consolidation activities (i.e. Pruning and Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) Gatekeeping);
Drive risk mitigation activities of assigned portfolios by aligning key stakeholders on risk tolerances and required mitigation investments;
Apply and support of the Global Breeding Global Strategic Business Planning process and ensure integration of that process with Crop Teams, Regional Breeding Teams, Straco and budget;
Work collaboratively with Breeding and APD functions to ensure pipeline supply and demand factors and targets are analytically derived where possible and standardize across the pipeline as opposed to using individual by individual estimates.

Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of experience or Master’s degree with at least eight years of experience or Ph.D. with 4 years of experience, all the experience in several of the following functional areas, Crop Breeding, manufacturing, (global) planning, Field Testing, Nursery Production, Quality/Regulatory and other cross-functional business processes common to the Plant Breeding and/or Biotech industry;
Be able to combine strong conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to motivate senior managers and cross organizational teams to collaborate;
Have a broad understanding of various disciplines and issues impacting manufacturing around the world (e.g. regulatory and environmental issues, quality control, etc.);
Be able to influence, persuade and build collaboratively relationships with internal and external customers as well as have the ability to direct corrective action when necessary;
Be able to lead projects of high complexity with limited direction;
Demonstrated advanced problem-solving abilities;
Strong attention to detail;
Experience with both standard MS Office computer and software systems used in data analysis, with ability to quickly learn new software programs and tools;
- Master’s degree or higher.
Domestic relocation maybe provided for this role.
